When it comes to planning weddings, Jade Martini adheres to one simple guideline, and she was quick to recite it to us: "It's not about me. It's about turning the bride and groom's vision into something unforgettable." It was with this principle that the Staten Island native launched Jade Wedding Salon last year.

While Jade can handle everything from selecting the venue to running the rehearsal dinner-and even design bridesmaids' dresses-it customizes service to satisfy each bride. "Some brides just need me on the wedding day to manage the vendors. Others ask me to do in-depth planning from the beginning," Jade says.

The way Jade sees it, her job is to coordinate every detail so the only item on the bride's agenda is to enjoy her day. For example, when the stand for the unity candle was missing on the day of a recent wedding, she quietly rustled one up. When the groomsmen's boutonnières didn't arrive on time, she dispatched someone to the florist. The key, she says, is to solve the problems without alerting the bride.

Jade works throughout New York and New Jersey, but she's loyal to her network of Staten Island vendors who provide everything from flowers to videography. A certified bridal consultant, Jade has five weddings under her belt and two more in the works. She took a wedding planning course at Fashion Institute of Technology and is on track to finish the school's fashion styling program in June.

As a teenager Jade developed a passion for fashion that she brings to her wedding planning. To keep current on the latest wedding trends she regularly hits the bridal expos at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, often bringing clients with her.

"Styling clothes that can make a woman feel better about herself and inspire others is an accomplishment worth celebrating," Jade says.  So is planning an unforgettable wedding.
